frequently asked questions

Is your company insured?
North Carolina venue owner's require an insured bartender to serve alcohol to you and your guests.
We have General Liability, Liquor Liability, and Workers Compensation to protect your party

and can provide a Certificate Of Insurance for your venue upon request.

Do you supply the alcohol or do I?
We do not have an ABC Permit to provide or purchase alcohol for your event.
Our clients will be required to supply all the alcoholic beverages.

We will be happy to pick-up and deliver your pre-purchased alcohol for an additional fee.

How do I calculate how much alcohol to purchase?
First consider your crowd. Are they heavy drinkers, moderate, or light?
If you have 100 guests at your event, you would divide your group in half.
One half drinking beer and the other half drinking wine.
If 50 guests have 5 beers each you would need 250 beers
There are 5 glasses in a bottle of wine (six in a bottle of red)
If 50 guests are drinking wine and they each have 5 glasses of wine you would need 50 bottles
If you're also serving Hard Seltzers like White Claw or Trulys then substitute these with the amount
of wine that you purchase.
If you are serving liquor you would do the same math using 2ozs per cocktail and assume that the
majority of guests (typically 70%) will be consuming cocktails rather than beer and wine.

What type of wine and beer do you recommend?
We recommed 3-4 varieties of beer: An IPA, lager, pilsner, lite beer, ale

Two varieties of White Wine- Pinot Grigio and Chardonnay
Two varieties of Red Wine- a Cabernet or Pinot Noir or a Red Blend

Will there be a gratuity added?
A 15% gratuity is added to the Wait Staff (Server) fee.

Unless otherwise indicated, our bartenders typically place a tip jar on the bar and are tipped by
your generous
guests. A gratuity is not added to the bartending fee unless otherwise specified.
We accept cash, Venmo @Celebration-Sidekicks or PayPal at celebrationsidekicks@gmail.com

What do staff members wear at events?
We wear a collared, black polo shirt with our logo on the left chest, black pants and black non-skid shoes.
Option for staff to wear a black or white long sleeve dress shirt, black vest, or tie
is available at the client's request.

What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept debit or credit cards and will send you an invoice for payment through Square.

What areas of North Carolina will you travel to?
We cover Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill and the surrounding areas.

A travel fee for events 30 miles or more in one direction are subject to travel fees.
Starting point is the center of Raleigh at Midtown Place.

Where should we purchase our alcohol?
We recommend Total Wine or Costco for you beer and wine purchase.
They both have a great selection and will also
allow you to return any
unopened bottles of wine and cases of beer.

Do I have to purchase a day of permit to serve liquor at my wedding?
North Carolina wedding venues require a Limited Special Occasion Permit to be purchased by the
client if your are serving fortified wine and spirituous liquor.

We have added the link for your convenience.

https://abc.nc.gov/Permit/QualificationLSO/

Will I need cups if we are renting glassware?
Yes, even if you have rented glassware, towards the end of the evening we typically switch over to plastic cups.
This allows us to collect all the glassware and rerack them
to ensure that the racks are filled and ready to return to the event rental company.

What do the cups look like that the bartenders provide?
We use clear 9oz disposable Solo cups for wine and cocktails, and 16 oz disposable cups for beer
(typically used with keg beer/on tap). We can also provide biodegradable cups made from corn upon request.
